Caesarean Scar Massage Workshop
Join this 75–90 minute practical workshop to learn more about Caesarean scar massage and simple techniques you can use at home to support your scar and the surrounding area.
Whether your Caesarean was recent or several years ago, it’s never too late to learn more about your scar and how gentle massage may help.
During the workshop, we’ll cover:
How scar massage may help with numbness, tightness, itching and discomfort
How massage can help improve mobility and movement around the scar
Techniques to help soften and mobilise the scar tissue and surrounding area
How to gradually become more comfortable with touching your scar, particularly if the area still feels sensitive or unfamiliar
When and how to get started with scar massage safely
Practical techniques that you can continue using at home
There will be a practical demonstration of the techniques, giving you the opportunity to see how they are performed before trying them yourself. I’ll demonstrate on myself and, where possible, with a volunteer.
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the workshop.
The £25 workshop includes:
A small bottle of massage oil or cream suitable for scar massage
A take-home handout covering the techniques discussed
£10 off any massage treatment with me
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has had a Caesarean and would like to learn more about scar massage. You do not need to have had a recent Caesarean - scar massage can be beneficial even if your Caesarean was several years ago.
Babies are welcome to join you.
The workshop is delivered by Sophie Wynne, a massage therapist specialising in supporting mums through pregnancy, motherhood and beyond. Sophie is trained as a Caesarean scar massage specialist through Restore Scar Therapy and is based in High Wycombe, where she offers Caesarean scar massage alongside pregnancy, postnatal and other massage treatments.
